Region IX Education Cooperative Leadership Team Meeting

Goals:
1. Effective communication to staff of our agency’s policies,  procedures and programs.
2. Provide timely and useful information regarding budget.
3. Build our capacity as leaders.
Measurement:
1. By employee feedback and satisfaction. (quarterly review). We will create a staff folder in google docs and drop the information we want to disseminate in. Staff will be able to make comments.
2. Quarterly review.
3. Report outs each month. Documentation of leadership participation.

1. Be respectful and listen to others.

Will have a 15-30 minute work session on next meeting to finish Mission Statement.
Survey
Mary will send out an email with instructions for survey on Monday the 20th of October -
employees will have 4 days to respond -

Professional Development
NMTEACH for teachers Nov. 11 -
Lexi Miles will be here on the 11th and will be doing a teacher training - will be inviting about 50 people to attend, ½ from region ix districts ½ from outside of R9
Safety
Meeting was held - present Mary Reeve, Fred Romero, Bryan Dooley.  Leadership team will select a topic for safety -
  • Staff meeting in December will be planned
  • Gina suggests the back double doors (exterior doors) aren’t locking -
  • Gina asks about safety for our home visit people
  • Next Safety meeting on how to meet and greet clients in various settings
Research Alliance
Training on logic loops in prep for writing grants
  • Gina & Brenda invited to look at material and workshop.
  • Mary will have them come in late November and notify leadership

Education Services:
Carl Perkins Annual Performance Report was due on September 30th.
Kuder training for districts was on September 19th. Positive feedback from participants. All districts represented except Carrizozo.
Attended RtI training in ABQ on 9/17. Special Education law conference on 9/24 and 9/25.
SEB conference in ABQ on 9/10 and 9/11. Directors from Capitan, Cloudcroft, Hondo, Ruidoso and Tularosa attended.
Special Education coordinator meeting coming up on 10/2.
STAR/ Links training scheduled for October 27-29th. Ruidoso Schools Board Room.
CPI October 9th and 10th, November 7th.
Mentor teachers October 24th, Level 1 teacher November 14th.
Developmental Services:
Developmental Services has had record referrals.  We are addressing these as quickly as we can.
FIT visit went really well.  They were here to review our CME procedures.  They were pleased, and left no recommendations for corrections.
Utilization of new State IFSP going well.  Seems to be more parent friendly.
Completing quarterly reports for Public Awareness and Staff Development.
Quarterly reports for Transition Part C to Part B current for all LEAs
Partnering with CYFD for services to “At Risk” children.
Technology Services:
Sept 1, 2014 - Sept 30, 2014 (248 tickets)
• Copier code requirement for printing turned off - still on for copying.
• Contract with provider to fix ITV issue. - Monday Oct. 6th.
• Cloudcroft Google Docs training weekly on wednesdays during PLC’s will start 10/3/14
• Lovington MWT training
• NM Teach Buffalo Thunder
• Capitan Unit Plan Training
• Head Start MWT training
• MWT program update contracted
• MWT Unit Plan built for Reserve Schools- pending PO for deployment
Head Start
  • We are in the 15 day window for the NAEYC  Visit.  This occurs every 5 years.
  • No Head Start Review this year.
  • Spent our Carry Over to the penny.
  • Low enrollment - lacking 14 - need more children in Capitan.
  • Fire Marshall review today @ both sites.
  • Family Engagement Carnival Oct. 17 - Father focus - welcome to fathers/males - involved in their child’s education.
  • Refunding grant was submitted.  
  • After 14 years with HS, Diana Vazquez has resigned .  We will miss her!
Human Resources/Events Facilitation:

School Based Health Services:
Signs of suicide in RHS then RMS for later october.
OPTUM site visit 10-03-14
all is going well.
WIA:
Fully staffed!!
Responding to two audits at once, preparing for the next state audit in November.
Had a 4 day training last month, very successful.
WIOA is starting to take shape.  Servicing a whole new population of individuals.
Definitions will change.
Contract goes out for RFP, there is talk of granting it to R9 because we are an educational entity.  3 years.
